Kara Souders is a one of the main characters in the series "Red Band Society".
Before the hospital[]
Before the hospital, Kara was engaged in cheerleading. In one of her cheer practices, she lost consciousness and fell before being brought to the hospital.. Kara has a enlarged heart, but because of the substances she used that were revealed in her drug test, she's at the bottom of the list for a transplant.
Personality[]
Kara is a very daring girl who isn't afraid to share her opinions, although usually they aren't in the nicest way. She's pretty insensitive and doesn't care about hurting other people's feelings. She really only cares about herself. In the beginning of the series, she's shown to be abrasive and standoffish and doesn't let people in.
Later in the series, Kara meets Hunter, a patient suffering from liver failure. The two have a romantic connection and have a few very intimate moments. From Hunter, Kara learns to be more kind and is changed for the better. But sadly at the end Hunter dies from is liver failure.
